Thought For Days

Spiritual Holiday
To feel renewed give yourself a spiritual holiday. You don't have to go anywhere except inside yourself.

Smile and Say "Hello"
In life you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello".

Return of Your Energy
If you speak badly of others, the negative energy that you put out into the universe, will return to you. The same is true of positive energy.

Tread Lightly
Tread lightly upon this earth, seeing, understanding but never imposing. Thoughtful, independent, be gracious in victory and defeat. Free of possessiveness, so ease of mind sweetens relationships. Like the scent of a rose the untroubled spirit imparts a lasting fragrance.

Be Awe - full
Look out on life with amazement, not shock. The variety, the diversity, the manner of every person, the beauty amidst the drudgery, the contrasts, the opportunities, the heroism in the lives of ordinary people, your gifts, your talents, your friends - even just one friend - is all awesome. Live in awe, and entertain wonder, and you will be knocking on the door of true love. Don't kill it with cynicism or criticism, don't sabotage your life with moaning and complaining. Open the eyes in your head and the eye in your intellect and choose to see the stunning, awesome, diverse beauty of life happening around you right now. Meet it with your heart and you will enrich and be enriched in one single moment.

Resent Not
There are no justified resentments. To resent someone is to fall under the illusion that they are the cause of our suffering. No one can die from a snake bite. It's the poison that kills them. You may receive the poison of another’s words, or even just in a glance, but you don’t have to absorb it or allow it free passage through the veins of your consciousness. The consequence of not absorbing the poison of others is you never experience enmity towards others. And people notice when you have absolutely no enmity. It draws them close, it empowers them, it builds trust, it enables harmony to break out! It is only because the lion has no thought of killing the lamb that the lamb feels able to come so close.

Staying Peaceful
Desires cause peace to disappear. You think that acquiring things will make you feel secure, but the reality is that the more you have the more fear there usually is of losing it, and the further you are from peace. Desires are the cause of all conflicts. When you want something and cannot get it you become frustrated. Learning to be free from desires is learning how to stay peaceful.

Radiate Light
Each one of us is a walking radiator. Mostly we radiate thoughts and attitudes. From deep within we radiate our state of being, and the essential, original and eternal state of every being is peaceful and loving. But we block and distort this energy with our attachments. Attachments turn love into fear, peace into anger and then distort our attitudes and actions towards others. This is neither relaxing for ourselves, or for those around us. Which is why detachment is the secret to living lightly and lovingly. To be a radiator that people come to for real warmth, what do you need to detach from today? If you don't detach then you will stay attached, and then you will see others and life itself as a threat, and your tension will keep them away. But they cannot threaten you. Only your dependency on a thing, or an idea, or an opinion can be threatened.

Be Content
Wherever I am is wherever I am meant to be, whatever I am doing is whatever I am meant to be doing and whatever everyone else is doing is exactly what they are meant to be doing - this is contentment. If you do want to change where you are, or what you are doing, the first thing is to be content with wherever you are and whatever you are doing right now! Paradoxically that's what attracts opportunities and invitations to be somewhere else! Why? Because you are a living magnet, and contentment is one of your most attractive qualities. And the law of attraction says that according to your dominant thoughts so you will attract the people and circumstances into your life. Being content right now attracts the best possible future.

Self Awareness
A beautiful state of being is soul-consciousness, where your whole sense of self is shifted from a physical identity to a spiritual one. In soul-consciousness, you no longer feel yourself to be male or female, black or white. No worldly achievement forms your self-esteem. Instead self-esteem is shaped by a deep, abiding experience of your intrinsic worth as a child of God. A lack of soul-consciousness puts your well-being at the mercy of your environment - you become a slave to the influences of the people and situations around you - feeling happy and good only when outside events warrant it. This kind of dependency leaves the soul weak and confused. Soul-consciousness, on the other hand, frees you from external influences, allowing you to create an inner well being which is totally independent.

Eye Of The Storm
A wise sea captain caught in a tropical storm knows that if he holds his vessel on the periphery it will get hurled from one side to the other. If he can reach the eye of the storm, he will enter a place of stillness. The storm will then subside and the ship can continue its journey. Similarly, when everything around me is changing in a very intense way, the best place for me to seek shelter and refuge is not on the outside, but deep within the self, where I can get in touch with my own inner being, find strength and stability, then come out and do whatever it is I need to.

Privileged (2008)

Today, I just found this new English drama series. After watching the drama, I like it. It is based on the Alloy Entertainment book "How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls" by best-selling author Zoey Dean.

PLOT

Twenty-three-year-old Megan Smith (Joanna Garcia, Reba) has a Yale education, a relentlessly positive attitude and a plan to conquer the world of journalism, despite the fact that she is currently slaving away at a tabloid rag. Megan's plan is thrown off course when, in one whirlwind day, she gets fired, meets cosmetics mogul Laurel Limoges (Anne Archer, Ghost Whisperer) and becomes the live-in tutor for Laurel’s twin teen granddaughters in the heady Palm Beach world of wealth and power. The girls, Rose (Lucy Hale, Bionic Woman) and Sage (Ashley Newbrough, The Best Years), are beautiful, rebellious and less-than-thrilled with their new tutor, but Megan is determined to win them over as she enjoys the perks of her new job - breathtaking private suite, gorgeous convertible and live-in chef Marco (Allan Louis, Stomp The Yard). Even the neighbors are fabulous in Palm Beach, and Megan quickly catches the eye of Will (Brian Hallisay, Bionic Woman), the wealthy and extremely hot dilettante who lives on the estate next door and just happens to be dating Megan’s estranged sister Lily (Kristina Apgar, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). Completing this romantic quadrangle is Megan's best friend Charlie (Michael Cassidy, Smallville, The O.C), who is secretly in love with her. Despite her own complicated romantic and family relationships, Megan is committed to making a difference in the lives of her two headstrong charges as she navigates the treacherous waters of high society in Palm Beach. Privileged is based on the Alloy Entertainment book “How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls” by best-selling author Zoey Dean (The A-List). The series is from Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Paramount Network Television with executive producers Rina Mimoun (Gilmore Girls, Everwood), Bob Levy (Gossip Girl) adn Leslie Morgenstein (Gossip Girl, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). Michael Engler (30 Rock) directed the pilot.

This Is How We Miss Out Something Called 'LIFE'

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter. The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle fascinated by its colour and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died.

The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.

QUESTIONS:
1. What were the five words?
2. What is the implication of this story?

ANSWER:
The husband just said 'I am with you Darling'.

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behaviour. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, thiss would not have happened. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.

If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world. 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
This story is really worth reading.

Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know.
By this way we miss out something called L.I.F.E.

Thought For Days

Humility Is Greatness
Just as a tree that is full of fruit bows down for others to take the fruit, one who is humble will always live in self respect and treat others with respect.

Peace
Do not look for peace outside, for it lies within the soul.

Cooking and Eating
Cook and eat with powerful vibrations. By placing great importance on cooking and eating with loving and peaceful vibrations, you will nourish both mind and body.

Think Big
Rise above little things. Be a big thinker. You are what you think. So just think big, believe big, act big, dream big, work big, give big, forgive big, laugh big, image big, love big, live big. Carry that list and you'll start feeling big. Be a believer and you'll be an achiever.

Garden of Good Wishes
By planting seeds of peace deep in the heart, you create a garden of good wishes.

Barriers to Love
Whatever is in your heart that is not clean, not true, will ultimately begin to act like a wall, obstructing the natural flow of love. People who say that there is no love in their life, are being blocked by this wall. Actually there is love, but they just can't accept it. Ego is the clearest example of this. Ego limits the flow of love by placing conditions on the love you give and receive. Ego uses love to satisfy its own needs and desires. It produces a love which is deceptive, one which brings only temporary satisfaction. Ego does not allow you to experience true love or share it. If fact, ego is capable of destroying your ability to feel love altogether.

Mum's Advices

Making Time When Fortune Smile
Never say you have no time to look at lovely things--clouds and flowers and butterflies, green leaves and flashing wing....In a hurry you may be but as you rush along-snatch a second now and then to hear the blackbird's song.

Make a quiet minute in the turmoil of the day--a hallowed instant here and there, a space to pause and pray....If from worldly thoughts you never take a moment's rest--you will find at journey's end that you have missed the best.... missed life's secret meaning as you bustled to and fro--dazzled by the whirl and glitter of the passing show....Midst the many voices left the inner voice be heard. Make a silence, stand quite still, and let God say a word.

The Riches Left Behind
Forget the times of trouble, but not the truths they taught. Forget the days of sorrow, but not the strength they brought. Forget the bitter moments when heaven seemed unkind--but don't forget the lessons learned: the riches left behind.

The faith, the wisdom and the peace: the harvest of the years. The grain that none can gather in except with toil and tears. Forget the storm you battled through. Forget the heavy load--but not the light that led you safely down the lonely road.

Friends
When I think about the future all seems dark to me. Everything is veiled in shadows of uncertainty... But when I think about my friends, my heart is comforted--I am given strength to face whatever lies ahead.

There'll be burdens to be borne along an unknown road--but always there'll be somebody to help me with the load--someone somewhere needing me. And so my prayer ascends. Every morning every day I thank God for my friends.

7-Up's

1 Wake Up - Decide to have a good day.
"Today is the day the Lord have made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalms118:24

2 Dress Up - The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is
an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at
outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Sam 16:7

3 Shut Up - Say nice things & learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as
talking.
"He who guards his lifes guards his soul."
"Gossip betrays confidence. Avoid men who talk too much."
"Listen to advice, accept instruction and in the end, you will be wise."
Proverbs 13:3; 20:19; 19:20

4 Stand Up - For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will
fall for anything.
"Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have
opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10

5 Look Up - To the LORD.
"I can do everything through Him who gives me strength."
Philippians 4:13

6 Reach Up - For something higher.
As Jimmy Cricket sings "High Hopes" Always try to better yourself.

7 Lift Up - Your Prayers
"Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING."
Philippians 4

Supper Time!!! (20080905)

Today after Soke Yee and Sok Ling go out for clubbing. Pik Kay, Kah Wai and I have make up our mind to make roast potatoes for our supper. We have roasted some potatoes and make some sauces for it. We have make three sauces. Pik Kay makes one sause and Kah Wai makes two sauces.

Roast potato...

Three different sauces...

This sauce is prepared by Pik Kay using the chicken tonight sauce. She has added onion, ham, mushrooms and tomato sauce. It is nice.

Kah Wai prepares this sauce. He adds belacan, mushroom 'song', ice-berg and onions. It taste spicy. But, when eat with potatoes, it is not so spicy.

As for this, Kah Wai cooks it with crumpets, ice-berg and add his favourite, BBQ sauce. It tastes so spicy as he put too much pepper in it. I think this sauce is ok ok only. Hehe..

These are the roast potatoes we have for our supper. We recommend that when eating the roast potatoes, do not try to eat few sauce at the same time. It will make you confuse with the taste. One time one sauce maybe is better, I think.

P/S: You all can try at home. It is easy to make.

Exhausted...

Finally, I have finished all my assignments and now is just waiting for the day to come to pass up the assignments. It's been two weeks since me and my flatmates busy and rush with our assignments and coursework.

During the first week of the our directed learning, we all busy with our BSMA coursework on BT. Since some of the people in the Charlotte Court went to Scotland, there were only some left in the court. It looked quiet during that time. I think that one week we just do for the BSMA assignment.

As for the other assignments, I started doing it during the second week of the directed learning. I still had company analysis for CF, reporting writing and reflective writing. I had spent a lot of time on the CF as there were many research need to be done. I have to find relevant information to calculate the cost of capital and so on. I have to evaluate and justify the figures I use also. Fortunately, I got a team of co-operative members. We worked together to find the solutions. We have great times doing discussions together.

After passing up the CF report, I started to do for the FDM report writing. It was not so hard for me as before this, I had done some case studies for presentations. I just need to identify the issues and do research on the industry. Find recommendations and so on.

The difficult part for me is the reflective writing. Before start writing it, I have no confident to write as I don't know how to start. I had started writing it on Tuesday after the BSMA lecture class. I skipped my seminars. It took me a long time to start writing the introduction. I started some words and erase it. Start over again. Repeat, repeat and repeat..

During the lunch time, I had a bet with Kah Wai and Soke Yee. If one of us watch movies or dramas and did not do the reflective writing, we have to belanja mc chicken. I deal. It was a hard time for me as everyday I need to watch one movies or drama. It has been my habits for so long. As I don't want to spend my money, I really didn't open any video to watch. I just listen to songs.

Although no one lose the bet, Soke Yee still need to belanja me for mc chicken. This is because she promised me that if I wake her up and she still slept over, she will belanja me. Haha.. Free food..

It took me almost twelve hours to finish the reflective writing. During the time I was doing the writing, I stopped for a while to disturb people, eat, walk here and there and play online games. My flatemates said I wrote so fast for my reflective writing and they were really shocked that I really did not open anything to watch because of the mc chicken. Haha..When I finished my reflective writing, it almost 4 am. Pik Kay and I went to kitchen to cook breakfast for both of us, Kah Wai and Soke Yee. We cooked crumpets.

Last night was also the night my FDM group finalised our reporting writing. It was a relief for me since all the reports had been print out and now I just need to wait for morning to come to pass up my reports.

It's been a long and tired week for me. I have to rush all the assignments. After resting for one day, I have to start studying for my final exam since the exam time is coming soon. I need to prepare for the two subjects. I WANNA PASS..

Hopefully, it really work and go as my plan. STUDY.. STUDY.. STUDY.. Pei Fen, add oil.. AZA AZA FIGHTING!!!!
