This evening, my aunt called to ask us to go for dinner at Mega Hotel since she had extra tickets. When we reached at the venue, my first thing to see is ' Wao.. So many Indians!!' Not that I never see Indians before but just that it's been a while I didn't see so many Indians at one time since I'm back from KL.
I never think that Miri got so many Indians as more than half of the hall is full with Indians sitting at the table of ten. It's like 'wao' to me. Tonight event is organised by Miri Indian Association. The Indians are celebrating their Indian New Year. It's quite new for me since I never been to Indian festival. Celebrating their new year is my first time.
After the performance of dancing and singing, there is a lighting ceremony. It's the beginning of the event. This is my first time attending this kind of dinner. During this dinner, there are a lot of activities and performance. Besides the lucky draw, there are also singing and dancing. There are some guys playing the Indian instruments. The most special part is where there are some kids and youngsters become models to show us the traditional clothes of Indians. There are quite a number of clothes.
For me, tonight is a special night as this is my first time and I can see how the Indians celebrate their new year. I never think that Indians also got new year same like Chinese and Malays as I thought they just celebrate Deepavali. I think I'm the frog that sit in the well that never jump out from the well and always think that the world is as big as the well.. Short-minded I am.
There are many types of Indians just like Chinese. The new year they have is different too.

Again..
Today I was said by my colleagues again. Haii.. This time even worse.. One of them ask me to sit beside the newcomer to teach him since the seat beside him is vacant. Speechless when I heard about it. What can I do? I just can sit there and smile. Nothing else... Haii...
Maybe they never think of they also ask for my help when I'm in the middle of busy war. I just oly offer my hands to guide him only. I know the feeling of first time of doing the work and need helps. I just don't want newcomers to feel that feeling.. Haii...
Tomorrow is a new brand day.. Busy again as need to rush my account.. Just hope that I still can cope with the 'jokes' they say..

Tired...
Last week was a busy week for me since I got some assignments to rush for clients deadline.. This is what I don't like the most as the AGM deadline has not come but we have to meet the clients'. Besides, the newcomer came to office last week. New works and teaching are to be given to him since he is so new to the audit work.
Every time when I heard the words ' Chiam', 'Ms. Chiam', I will know that someone is calling for me. I have to come to rescue. Actually, I'm glad that I got the chance to help them up when they really need my help.
But, yesterday, during the time of O.T, one of my colleagues said that I was to good to the newcomer. Every time he called, although I was in the middle of work overload, I would straight away walked to him and helped him. She said since I was busy I could let others to help as the work was not given by me to him. In my thoughts, for me, I was responsible to teach him new things and guide him. If he needs helps I should have go there and help. Or maybe I shouldn't do like this. Just let him do the work by himself. But everyone is busy shouldn't someone come and teach him. Haii.. I really don't know what to do. I really can't answer her when she asked me that. If I didn't help my friends I will feel guilty as they called for helps just like last time.
Maybe she is correct. I should just keep myself in between. Help or no helps? Yes or no? It's a hard choice.

Hang on...
This morning I went to church with my mum.. As usual, I sat on the place where I use to sit. But, start from this week there will be some changes. Last time there is a family sit behind us. The grandma always talk with her granddaughters in the gathering. However, last Wednesday she passed away when she was attending activities. Fortunate she passed away i peace. No suffer. Actually, I quite missed her voice as every week I could hear her talking.
Although it's a sad new for the family, there is also good new for them. As the granddaughter has give birth to a son on the day after the grandma passed away. Good new to the family. A new life comes to the family. Congrats...
It has been one week since my last post. When surfing the net and check on my fb, there are still some news of TW on fb. Her friends still post their comments, love, feeling to her. Some videos and pictures are uploaded on her page also. It was so touching to see their friendship and relationship. They left their love and the feeling of missing her on the fb.
Now just hope that the family and friends will be slowly recover from the pain and sorrow..

With practice it is possible to create appreciative and compassionate thoughts; then I no longer need to indulge in resentment, bitterness or dislike. Training myself to react calmly and wisely offers enormouse dividends. Let me talk to myself silently with love and encouragement, balanced with firmness, and like the wise old sovereigns of fairy stories, let me rule the inner kingdom of my mind with benevolence.
Scattered Thoughts
Uncontrolled, scattered thoughts are like a speeding car. Unless you brake you'll crash. We need to put on the brakes if our minds are to work naturally. A natural mind is peaceful and a peaceful mind brings clarity.
Response Able
We now know that the true meaning of responsibility is response able or ability to respond. Whatever we may think, say, do, or feel - these are our responses for which we, and no one else, are responsible. This is easy to see but hard to live, for we have been taught to believe and think the opposite. So we don't consciously choose our response, we react instead, and then we blame others for our reaction. No wonder we feel imprisoned by others and our circumstances. The enlightened, on the other hand, have broken the spell, they see the illusion. They take full responsibility for their response abilities and as a consequence, they always hold their own destiny in their own hands. They are free spirits.

All human beings have a place inside which is filled with treasures; be still and you will find it.
